Simultaneous Internet Access
Workgroups, branch offices, small businesses,
and schools can tap into the power of the Internet easily and affordably
with the Webgate. Internet Access costs are significantly reduced by eliminating
the expense of purchasing an individual modem, phone line, and Internet
account for each user. Using NAT (Network Address Translation) the Webgate
allows up to 32 users on your network to go through each modem or ISDN
that you set for Internet Access. The built-in firewall guarantees network
security while blocking unauthorized entry from the Internet. The versatility
of the Webgate allows you to use static or dynamic IP addresses and also
standard dial-up or leased lines. The included network monitor helps keep
track of each users network activities.
Remote Access
Over a third of today's workforce either
works from home or on the road. Many organizations need to maintain a presence
in different regions through branch or satellite offices. The Webgate lets
your staff access all network resources from anywhere. Whether they connect
from a customer's site, from the convenience of their home, or from overseas
on business, Webgate can give your company that extra competitive advantage.
With a Webgate your remote clients will be able to access your network
from anywhere as easily as if they were really at the office.
Remote Access via Internet
Overseas on business? Too expensive to keep that long distance connection into your office LAN? The Webgate enables you to access your network from anywhere in the world by dialing into a local ISP. If your LAN doesnt have a dedicated Internet connection, you can use the callback feature which tells your Webgate to automatically dial-up your ISP when it receives a regular phone call or PPP connection.
Need to setup a Virtual Private Network
but having problems finding VPN service? The Webgates IP Mapping function
is the solution. This function allows you to create "holes" in
the Internet firewall to designated computers on your LAN. With IP Mapping,
you can use your regular Internet dial-up account to create your own "VPN".
LAN-to-LAN Routing (IP Routing)
LAN-to-LAN routing can connect all
your office networks together through analog or ISDN telephone lines. Simply
install a Webgate on each network and set the designated port function
for LAN-to-LAN Routing. The Webgate can work in co-operation with other
routers on your LAN, support static and dynamic IP addressees from your
ISP, forward gateways between your different networks and also provide
a myriad of other functions and applications. The versatility of the Webgate
allows you to create your own custom WAN Intranet and achieve corporate
like networking capability without the need to have a network administrator.
